Emmie Dejene

As Community Engagement Coordinator at Giving Kitchen, Emmie Dejene brings experience in nonprofit program management, community engagement, and cross-sector partnerships.

A proud Atlanta native and first-generation Ethiopian American, she is passionate about building community and connecting people with the resources and support they need.

Having worked in food service during college, she appreciates the people behind the industry and the importance of showing up for one another.

Outside of work, she enjoys cheering on the Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers, and Georgia Bulldogs, traveling to Europe and Africa, and spending time with her partner, Fredrik, and golden retriever, Kevin.

You can often find her around Alpharetta and Roswell or sharing a meal with friends and family—because if there’s one thing she strives to do in life, it’s eat dinner.
