When Hard Times Hit, Help Showed Up For Ari

February 24, 2026

Server Ari is injured and Asked For Help from Giving Kitchen

Industry Veteran Server Injured

For more than 20 years, Ari has built a career as a server in one of the country’s top steakhouses in Phoenix, AZ. He takes pride in hospitality—the kind of service that turns a great meal into a memorable experience. In November, a serious motorcycle accident changed everything. Ari sustained significant injuries, including a fractured C7, seven broken ribs, two fractured metatarsals, and a shattered clavicle that required a titanium replacement. With months of recovery ahead and no paycheck, he reached out for help—and was awarded financial assistance that eased his most urgent bills so he could focus on healing.

Ari learned about Giving Kitchen through family and completed a simple application with guidance from a case manager. Less than a month after his accident, he was approved for financial assistance. That support covered two months of rent and about six weeks of electricity, preventing his loved ones from draining savings and reducing the immediate pressure on his household. His community showed up for him, and Giving Kitchen was one part of the safety net that helped stabilize his situation.

Recovering With Community Support

Today, one month into recovery, Ari is making steady progress in physical therapy and remains focused on returning to work. Asking For Help takes courage. We’re grateful for Ari’s bravery and for the many people and resources—family, friends, healthcare providers, and Giving Kitchen—that contributed to his path toward stability.
