Asking For Help

Earlier this year, Nicole faced an unexpected injury that left her unable to work. Overnight, her steady income disappeared, and with it came uncertainty about what would come next. Searching for support, Nicole discovered Giving Kitchen, a nonprofit trusted by thousands of food service workers nationwide for providing compassionate help in moments of crisis.

As Nicole shared, “Giving Kitchen gives hope and help to those in need.” That hope began with a simple, caring process that connected her to both financial assistance—to help her focus on healing—and our Stability Network, which links clients to resources for housing, mental health, food security, and more.

Hope in Action

Giving Kitchen’s mission is to provide emergency assistance and community connections for food service workers facing unanticipated crises. Every act of support reflects our core values of empathy, generosity, and trust—ensuring that no one faces hardship alone.

Since its founding, Giving Kitchen has provided more than $16 million in financial assistance to over 34,000 food service workers, and more than 70% of clients say the support they received helped them avoid homelessness. Nicole’s story is one among many that shows the power of compassion in action.

Together, We Are Giving Kitchen
With timely support, Nicole regained stability and began moving forward—proof that asking for help is an act of strength, not weakness. Every time a food service worker finds relief through Giving Kitchen, we strengthen the community that sustains us all.
