This spring, we were reminded once again how generous and caring the food service community can be. Across the country, chefs, restaurant operators, industry partners, and supporters came together to raise funds, build connections, and show up for food service workers facing tough times.

We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who made these events and fundraisers possible. Your support helps ensure that food service workers can access the assistance and resources they need during times of crisis. Here’s a look at a few of the spring moments that made a meaningful impact.

Third Annual Charlotte Family Meal at Supperland

Charlotte’s hospitality community came together for the third annual Charlotte Family Meal, raising an incredible $117,000 to support food service workers in crisis. The evening featured welcome cocktails by James Beard Award-nominated mixologist Colleen Hughes and a collaborative six-course dinner from chefs Andriana “Dre” Cavazos, Bernard Crate, Sam Diminich, Joe Hutton, Chayil Johnson, Andres Kaifer, Chris Rogienski, Jonathan Shuler, and Samantha Ward, showcasing the generosity and talent that make this industry so special.

During James Beard Awards weekend, Giving Kitchen was proud to be the beneficiary of South x Second City 2026, an annual gathering hosted by Monteverde and Southern Foodways Alliance that celebrates the connection between Southern food culture and Chicago’s vibrant dining scene. Surrounded by chefs, hospitality professionals, and supporters from across the industry, the event helped raise awareness for Giving Kitchen’s mission and the critical resources available to food service workers facing crisis.

Celebrating Nashville's AAPI Heritage Month Celebration

Members of Giving Kitchen’s Nashville Community Engagement Council helped represent Giving Kitchen at a special AAPI Heritage Month celebration featuring designer, author, and food lover Peter Som. Hosted at AVO, the event welcomed hospitality professionals, creatives, and community leaders for an evening centered on connection, culture, and community, while introducing new audiences to Giving Kitchen’s mission of supporting food service workers in crisis.
