QPR Institute Logo

QPR, the CPR of suicide prevention training, is an emergency mental health intervention for suicidal persons created in 1995 by Paul Quinnett. This one hour ‘GateKeeper’ training prepares you to support a friend, family member, or teammate who is contemplating suicide. Over 500,000 people have taken this training — join over half a million people who want to help prevent suicide.

Quote
Suicidal ideation is 2-3x higher in the food service industry compared to other workplaces. Often times, the simple offering of hope, and social and spiritual support can avert a suicide attempt entirely.

Why QPR Gatekeeper Training?

Crisis brain is real. While chronic depression and other mental illnesses can trigger suicidal ideation, a desperate situation can also send people into a mental space where suicide is suddenly on the table. Giving Kitchen’s entire team is required to complete the QPR Gatekeeper Training to help manage food service workers experiencing crisis brain. The QPR Method can help to not only save a life, but build a culture in which people are looking out for each other better than before.

I have lost too many close to me to suicide. I feel much more empowered to help in the future.

Very good training. Thank you for making it available. I wish I had done it years ago to help my friend who took his life.

Thank you for this information. I feel more confident in my knowledge of helping and giving hope to someone who may be thinking of suicide.

Thank you so much for such a helpful, insightful, and empowering tool.

This program challenged some assumptions about suicide I had, even as someone who attempted suicide and went through treatment for it.

Thank you. I am grateful my boss recommended your course to me and I will recommend it to others.
