After owning a bar and live music venue for ten years in downstate Illinois, Shannon moved to Chicago and began her life in food and beverage: first in retail, then in not-for-profit events, and finally in corporate and academic full-service events with Catering by Michaels. She collects books, cookware, and wine with equal enthusiasm. She never bakes, but cooks like mad. And almost always with wine.
