Joanna Mitchell brings a lifelong love of the restaurant industry to her role as Operations Coordinator at Giving Kitchen. She got her start in hospitality in high school, working at a local pizza shop before joining the Brae Loch Inn in her hometown of Cazenovia, New York, a beloved community staple since 1950. From there, she kept coming back to restaurants, working in Harbor Springs, Michigan during college and spending several summers on Nantucket Island with a restaurant and catering team.
After more than 15 years in the corporate world, and time living in Boston, Washington, D.C., Nashville, and now Atlanta, Joanna felt pulled to do work where she could make a more immediate impact. She has long been inspired by Giving Kitchen’s mission and the stories behind it. So, when the opportunity to join the team came along, she knew it was exactly the opportunity she’d been looking for.
When she’s not working, Joanna loves trying new restaurants and wines with friends and family. She also continues to support local community food banks and food delivery organizations.
