An Atlanta native, Hertz is an alumnus of Westminster High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Tulane University in New Orleans. He completed graduated work in organizational psychology and obtained a Master of Business Administration in marketing and finance. He then began his professional career in accounting and consulting services at KPMG in New Orleans. Since his return to Atlanta to join United Distributors, Hertz has rooted himself in the metro community, serving on many civic, business, and advisory boards, including the Woodruff Arts Center and Hands On Atlanta. He is founder and chairman of Camp Twin Lakes, which has served as a camping facility designed for chronically ill and disadvantaged children since 1989. He also sits on the boards of The Marcus Foundation Inc., Atlantic Capital Bank, Georgia Research Alliance, Westminster School, and serves on the board and executive committee of Tulane University. He is the chairman of the board of Children\u2019s Healthcare of Atlanta, the largest pediatric healthcare system in the country. Due to his service work, Hertz is the recipient of several service-based awards including being named \u201cVolunteer of the Year\u201d by Cartier and Georgia Association of Philanthropy, respectively, as well as receiving the 11Alive \u201cCommunity Service Award and Washington D.C.\u2019s \u201cJefferson Award,\u201d making him one of twenty recipients in the country for his distinguished service to children. Hertz earned the 2009 \u201cPhilanthropist of the Year\u201d award from Business-to-Business Magazine and was inducted into Junior Achievement of Georgia\u2019s 2011 \u201cAtlanta Business Hall of Fame.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
